Ricardo is the former Deputy Secretary General in MSF International, leading all support functional areas at MSF: Human Resources, Finance, Fundraising, Supply, Logistics and Information Systems. Ricardo started to work at Medecins Sans Frontiers in 2004 first as finance coordinator, and then as project manager, and deputy country director in different field missions (Kenya, Somalia, Jordan, Syria, Guinea-Bissau, and Darfur) and also in Barcelona headquarters where he led the implementation of SAP on the finance area. Since 2012 Ricardo led MSF International finance function, as International Finance Coordinator. Before working in the humanitarian world, Ricardo worked 5 years as Chief Accounting and Cost Controlling Officer at Navantia Cadiz shipyard. He is an alumni of the ESMT in Berlin, holds a bachelor in business administration and a Master in Financial Audit from UCA (University of Cadiz) and has been trained in humanitarian interventions by MSF. After 6 years living in Geneve, moved to Rio de Janeiro in 2017. In his free time he loves reading, goes hiking, enjoys spending time with family and friends, and plays the guitar with friends’ rock bands. He speaks fluently Spanish, English, French, and Portuguese.
